The Canterbury Choir: Grades 4-5 The Canterbury Choir focuses on the developing treble voices of 4th and 5th grade boys and girls. Choristers benefit from a focus on solid vocal training. The Canterbury Choir rehearses frequently with the Youth Choir, and has opportunities to sing anthems with both the Youth and Adult Choirs. Canterbury Choir singers participate in the Voice for Life choir training program and learn music reading skills that enable them to participate in choir with great confidence. The Canterbury Choir sings during liturgies once each month. The Beckwith Choir: Grades 1-3 The Beckwith Choir focuses on singing with a pure sound, accurate pitch and solid rhythm. Singers learn to listen to the sounds they make. They also learn about musical symbols, anthem texts and melodies, rhythms, seasons of the church year, and Sunday morning liturgies. The Beckwith Choir provides experience in reading a musical score, and prepares singers for the Voice for Life program, which they begin in the Canterbury Choir. Friendships are formed that last throughout their school years and beyond. The Beckwith Choir gives children a sense of serving God in this parish and bringing joy to the people who hear them sing. The All Angels Choir: Ages 4-5 The All Angels Choir provides a musical foundation to boys and girls who are four or five years of age. Hymns, anthems, and fun musical activities teach the children to hear and sing pitches, feel and clap rhythms, and follow a director. The children discover their singing voices and learn music and worship skills that help them contribute to our common worship in joyful ways. |
